The Kyosho model and its origins

This Kyosho resin model is a faithful 1:18-scale replica of the Honda Civic (FL5) 2024 Team Spoon #95. It captures the distinctive silhouette of the Honda Civic Type R FL5 in Spoon team specification. Its paint and markings give this particular replica its visual identity. The catalogue reference for this miniature is KSR18067Y. The history of the full-size vehicle or depicted subject is rooted in 2024 competition-livery context. Its design and development are associated with Honda’s Civic design team, with Spoon Sports racing development. The original form reflects the technical and cultural priorities of its period. The shape was created for a real driving purpose rather than for the miniature itself.

Design and production

The most recognisable proportions remain visible at reduced scale. Its front profile establishes the vehicle’s immediate identity. The side silhouette reveals the relationship between cabin and body. The rear treatment completes that recognisable design language. For production context, The race-liveried car is not a separate numbered production model. That historical figure, where available, concerns the full-size car rather than Kyosho miniatures. A colour or race livery should not automatically be treated as a separately numbered factory edition. The supplied product line does not state how many Kyosho replicas were manufactured.

Production and engineering

Variant totals can differ from the production figure for the broader model family. This distinction matters when a collector compares closely related versions. The original concept is characterised by a turbocharged front-wheel-drive performance hatchback prepared for racing. Its mechanical layout influenced the body’s overall proportions. The engineering choices reflect the purpose of the full-size vehicle. Changes between road and racing specifications should be understood separately. The miniature preserves the principal external cues of its named version. Wheels, openings and glazing help identify the chosen specification.

Engineering and competition

The selected paintwork makes this release visually distinct from other references. A miniature is a representation and does not share the mechanical functions of the original. In competition terms, Any result must be attributed to the exact event and team entry, not the road-going Type R generally. The designation does not itself establish a race entry for this specific road-car finish. A racing success is attributed to the relevant team, driver and full-size car. Related competition derivatives may differ significantly from production examples. The colour alone does not establish that a specific car took part in a race. Where the subject comes from fiction or cinema, its on-screen exploits are not official results.

Legacy

This separation preserves the historical meaning of the original model. The Honda Civic Type R FL5 in Spoon team specification remains a distinct chapter in its manufacturer’s design history. Its form links the period’s styling to the engineering underneath. The chosen specification gives the collector a more precise version to display. Kyosho presents the subject at 1:18 scale. The replica offers a compact way to appreciate the original design. This Honda Civic (FL5) 2024 Team Spoon #95 miniature highlights the car’s individual appearance. It brings together automotive history and the pleasure of a carefully chosen display model.
