POLE POSITION is a classic 1982 arcade racing game by Namco. It became the highest-grossing arcade game in Japan in 1982 and the most popular coin-operated game internationally in 1983.

In North America, it was the top-grossing arcade game in 1983 and 1984, and remained in the top five in 1985. Players control a race car, aiming to qualify for the pole position on an iconic racing circuit.

Known for its third-person perspective, smooth graphics, and realistic driving mechanics, POLE POSITION is one of the most influential racing games in video game history.
