A little bit about Slick-Shifts and Black Friday
Retail and "into the black" origin
- Going from red to black: By the late 1980s, retailers adopted the name and gave it a new, positive meaning. The "Black Friday" narrative became the day when retailers' accounting books went from being "in the red" (at a loss) to "in the black" (profitable) due to the surge in holiday shopping.
-
Marketing and expansion: Retailers started using Black Friday as a major shopping event with big sales, a strategy that was highly successful and led to the term spreading across the United States.
As with most of these "events" it's an Americanism!
I'm afraid that in my opinion it's just a farce now. I mean it's supposed to be a 1 day event, Friday 28th November, but it now starts basically as early as possible and sometimes even in October!
Slick-Shifts will NOT be having a Black Friday Sale preferring to focus on every day fantastic prices throughout the year.
The only items reduced for this event will be Gyeon & Chemical Guys reduced by 15% and Bilt Hamber reduced by 10%. These offers will run from now until Sunday the 30th November or until stocks last.
Other Detailing Products are reduced in price from Soft99, Carbon Collective, Revive & Saanro until stocks last.
Hobby Products will just be at their every day fantastic prices with a few exceptions which are discounted further either as a special offer or to clear!
