Build Army WW2 Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vb - British Fighter Plane - 1:30 Scale 500 Pieces - BA2002

Recreate the legendary Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vb, the iconic British fighter that defended the skies during WW2! Known for its speed and agility, the Spitfire was a key player in the Battle of Britain. This 1:30 scale model captures the sleek, powerful design of the original aircraft, featuring its iconic elliptical wings with slope and a distinctive cockpit that fits the torso of a minifigure. The model is finished in the classic grey and green camouflage, reflecting the later war period when Spitfires operated over Europe at higher altitudes, blending seamlessly with clouded skies and urban landscapes.

With 500 brick pieces, this kit offers a fun and manageable building project, perfect for young builders and aviation fans. Add authentic touches with Royal Air Force insignia stickers and customise your model using LEGO®-compatible bricks. The Spitfire is not just a build—it’s a piece of history you can display with pride.

A Brief History of the Supermarine Spitfire

Having a higher victory-to-loss ratio than the Hurricane, the Spitfire became the backbone of RAF Fighter Command after the Battle of Britain. It was widely used by the allies and saw action in the European, Mediterranean, Pacific, and South-East Asian theatres. Due to its high performance, the Spitfire serve in roles such as interceptor, photo-reconnaissance, fighter-bomber, and trainer until the 1950s.

A total of 20,341 units of Spitfire, including variants of different wing configurations and engines, were built. It continues to be popular among enthusiasts: nearly 60 remain airworthy, and many more are static exhibits in aviation museums throughout the world. This kit recreates the Mk Vb which is featured by the “b” wing of two 20mm cannon. The Mk V was produced in greater numbers than any other single mark of Spitfire and was supplied to the Soviet Union and the United States.
